Dakota is pretty quiet when you first encounter him, because he isn’t used to interacting with other people too much and would much rather observe their personality before saying anything stupid. Regardless of that, he does say things that unintentionally push their buttons. Dakota can be pretty blunt but always truthful which might give off a cold personality to some people. He has difficulties picking up other people’s emotions and grasping the concept of sarcasm. He takes things very literally.

Dakota is a realistic thinker and may seem more pessimistic than optimistic in certain situations, however that doesn’t mean he gives up easily. Dakota hates being a sore loser and is too stubborn to give up on things that easily, so he would often keep trying until he gets the job done. He can get a bit impatient but after clearing his mind and looking at it at a different angle can help him solve the problem he is in.

Dakota usually does his own thing and doesn’t like to be told what to do with his time, he often prefers to keep his mind stimulated with something to read. Even though he likes to do his own thing and prefers solo activities, that doesn’t mean he doesn’t like company, he prefers to be with someone than being alone.

He is also new at being independent since his parents were always there for him when he needed them or not. So he gets very excited to go on adventures, even though he doesn’t look it. He is a naturally curious child so he may wander off on his own if he isn’t supervised. He does get a bit saucy when being told what to do.

    Dakota was a miracle child for the Vane family, as his parents prayed years for a baby. He was born in the hands of loving parents who were too over protective and strict as they believed that they knew what was best and safe for their child. It was suffocating.

Coming from a rather wealthy family, his parents gave him everything they thought he wanted, except freedom. The freedom to roam around outside, to make friends, to make his own decisions. Dakota had difficulties interacting with other kids since he wasn’t allowed to play outside with them. He was also not the healthiest kid cause of his asthma, he wasn’t allowed to do anything too strenuous. For the most part, Dakota stayed indoors as he spent most of his time in his family library.

He grew up bitter and wanted to rebel against whatever his parents said. So once he had turned 16, he decided to sneak out of the house and finally have a day of freedom and roam around wherever he liked. However he gotten himself lost in the woods and started to panic as he wandered aimlessly in the forest until he came upon Transyre.
